I was wondering if these is a way that I can use the SQL Select statement to gather data from an excel spreadsheet. I looked through the documentation on the Select statement and didn't see anything on this subject.

Didn't know if it could be done but thought I would ask the question.

Thanks

No, you would have to either import it into a table, or automate Excel to retreive the data.

Atlas,

You could always set up an ODBC data source to point to the spreadsheet (assuming you have an ODBC Excel driver), then use SQL pass-through to send a SELECT statement which retrieves the data.

But you will find it vastly simpler to import the sheet into a VFP table, as Mike Gagnon suggested.
