Data Bindings in MX

I am having a problem with getting to the Recordset Dialog box. Under the Bindings tab everything is has a chk by it , except testing server. I have created and re-created this several times, but still I cannot create a recordset. can anyone help???//

Have you set up a database connection, and tested the ODBC connection through something like access?
