Dear Team.
Background:
Im running 2003 server with an old version of veritas - 8.6
Tape drive is a generic HP DAT72.

Problem:
help - I can only get around 27gb of data onto any of my tapes...
They're only a month old and show no errors.

I've ran HP tape tools and verified compression is running fine on the drive and tapes.
Veritas says that hardware compression is enabled.
I've reran the latest drivers for veritas.

Can anyone confirm compatability issues? Will 8.6 only see this as a 32gb max drive?

Are you using the correct tapes? This drive reads and writes DAT 72, DDS-4, and DDS-3 formats. It should see 32gig only if you have dat72
