I am doing the interior page layout of a book. When bringing in the manuscript from Word, one of the annoying issues is having to fix the en and em dashes and single and double quotes. Is there some automatic way to do this such as an XTension?

How does the text look when it's imported? If the quote marks are just inches/feet marks, then enabling Smart Quotes in preferences should correct it.

If they're being imported as strange charactors, a simple Find & Replace could do the trick. Copy & Paste one of the offending charactors into the Find dialog box, put in the replacement charactor and possibly check 'document' so that it searches all the text boxes.

Hope this helps!
