hope u'll help me with one little problem..

i'm updating my site, & today i've changed the *main* file (index.htm); All of my life i thought that site have 2 connect 2 this file..
i mean if i write just
Code:
www.whatever.com
the connection have to be made with
Code:
www.whatever.com/index.htm
well, i removed my old index from temporary internet files & from history.. but i still have this f***ng old file instead of new one, i can get access 2 new one only if i connect directly 2 it (if i write
Code:
www.whatever.com/index.htm
in the address bar)

now i removed all stuff from server & still get this old index if i connect to the host..

what 'da? am i dumb or what? Victor

Hello vituz!

I would do next things to fix it:

1) it's not a law that browser starts from index.htm(l). It depends on server settings. I may configure my server to make "first" page main.asp or first.jsp or any other. Most servers are cofigured to start from index.htm(l) or default.htm. So I would check if I have any file like default.htm or something that may have context of "first" page. Sometimes we create some files and later forget that they even exist.

2) disable cache in my browser, I'm sure you know how to do that.

I'm sure you're smart enough to fix it by yourself and my suggetions may not help, but I know for sure that there is only one thing not to work properly - human mistake.

Good Luck!
