I'm running Netware 5.1 SP7. tried deleting a folder & get "Cannot remove folder comp anal damaged threads". Unable to get any info regarding this statement. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Are your vols traditional or nss ?

If you have traditional volumes -
sounds as though you need to do a VREPAIR on the volume where this file was(is). Check the options in vrepair for creating log files for any deleted/fixed files.

If this doesnt work you may need to do a DSREPAIR (pref a full unattended but otherwise a Check Volume Objects and Trustees) on the DS.

If you see errors fix them, then try deleting the folder again. If not where is the folder and who owns it?

Hope this helps.

Jeff

Actually, I'm not a Netware person. As far as traditional or nss, not sure how to id. Where could I get more detail into "tools" such as VREPAIR/DSREPAIR and there usage? The folder was requested to delete, I cut & pasted to my "test" folder to make sure no one has last minute needs. After about a week or 2 I finally delete, which is what I tried to do when the errors showed up.

If you're not a Netware person dont go there! You probably wont have access to your system anyway. Contact your network administrator for help.

If you want more info on Novell goto Dont try using DSREPAIR or VREPAIR if you dont know what you are doing, it could cause serious issues on your network.
