How can I see or set up a daily total of all incomming emails to my exchange 2000 server?

Would a good place to start be in the default SMTP Virtual Server queue?

Perfmon can get this. There are counters for messages sent/received.

click start - run - perfmon.exe. It's installed with the default windows install.
