What application is needed for the WAP enabled D4425 IP phone search?

you need a WAP gateway.

there are many commercial WAP gateways, I don't want to pay for one, a good alternative is Kannel (

What kind of search data base are you using? try enabling WAP first on the phones, install a WAP gateway, and edit the WAP gateway IP address on the Configuration file of the 4225 phones, you can have the ericsson webpage as a test page and check how you can browse through WAP, that might help you in understanding how it works.
