I have been seeing a few customers reporting that they get a D100 and configure it. Once it connects to the IP office both the green and blue light turn off and the base is unreachable and unusable from then on out. You can not default it or do anything with it. Oddly enough the ethernet port continues to blink showing the unit is not completely dead. I have even had this happen on a unit I tested myself then sent to customer and it immediately happened for them. I would blame their equipment but they used a POE switch the first time and POE injector second time. Anyone heard of this issue? I found no reference to this on this site or on google searches.

I did figure this out and figured I would share what I did.

I noted in the manual that there is troubleshooting in case of bad/corrupted firmware. It should try to get to maintenance mode by itself (which it was not doing) but you can force it to maintenance mode. So while plugging in the ethernet cable you hold the reset button (which is fairly inconvenient) which will put the base into maintenance mode. You can tell it is in maintenance mode because the web browser reports the firmware as MM and the blue light steadily flashes blue. I then defaulted the base. I connected to the base again and put the IP information back in. I then manually upgraded the firmware. After upgrading the firmware it switches from maintenance mode to the standard firmware and is back operational.

I did note in the log file that it looks like it grabs the D100.cfg file and then reports some setting is set to high (some Mallow setting can't remember entire name). Maybe this is a 9.1.9 issue that is completely random? I am unsure but if you come across a D100 that the blue and green lights turn off and you can't do anything with try the above posted solution it worked for me.

Bagger, thanks for posting. It may be helpfull for anyone who sells the crap.
We sold it twice, now they are in our stock somewhere in the department "Nice try but no more",

I agree they are way more trouble then they are worth.

Like it.
had not a lot of issues with the D100's yet once installed they usually are OK. Even with repeaters but now I probably jinxed it and will get bombarded with crap calls on them :)

Have pink love for your way into the long weekend

Thanks for the post update critchey, we've had our fair share of issues with them.
Intrigrant, what alternatives do guys usually sell in place of the d100, in that price range (or cheaper)?

Thanks for the pink love and happy weekend to us all.

Not sure if you are using dhcp for the unit or not, but I have had issues when using dhcp. When assigning the unit a static address from the get go it seems to work. Using dhcp seems to mess the unit up. Just my experience.

I can not say for sure all units were static but I know for sure the most recent was for sure.

We sell Gigaset with repeaters, SIP or analog based.
Works well and it is EU DECT / GAP compatible but I assume not available around the globe.
