D01C Error Adding Shortcut on Start Menu

Trying to add some shortcuts to the startmenu on WinXP. App was created with Snapshot and uses the %*PROGRAMS variable to indicate the users startmenu.

I've seen some notes indicating that this is a defect but am wondering if anyone has any cool ways around this. This is ZFD 3.2SP3.
