D-Link VPN and XP

Hi, I'm pretty much totally new to VPN's, know the theory behind them but have never used one.

I have a small office LAN (8 PC's with XP Pro) and they share a DSL connection through a D-Link router.

I want to be able to access the LAN from a remote location such as my home. D-Link has a "Broadband VPN Router" that supports IPSec, PPTP, or L2TP tunnels.

If I got this would I then be able to setup XP Pro at my home to connect to my office LAN and get access to my files there?
