What type of Setup CD are you using, is it OEM, Retail, or a self creation?
What type of install are you attempting, is it clean install after formatting or an upgrade or repair? The latter two might benefit from disabling anti virus and other security type programs.
See if it helps by setting the Bios back to safe defaults and disabling any Bios scanning.
