Multi-series graphs, ie. January-December sales over 3 years. We can chart over a continuous graph, but can not work out how to get for example three years ie. three lines - one representing each year on a chart. The only way we can find at this point is to have one continuous line covering a number of years.

Has anybody got any idea whether this can be achieved with CAP? or any other OLAP software.

Very good question, this is my employers key dissapointment with CAP. If anybody can assist we'd appreciate it too.

The only way I can, at the moment, think of to do this is to restructure the cube. Rather than having all the time data on a single dimension have one dimension for the quarter/month/week data and another for the year. This means that you can slice on a given year or chart the years against smaller time periods as I think you want.

The problem with that is that it is harder to have a single chart showing the data over the year end. It is possible by stacking the year dimension on the same axis as the other time dimension but that isn't quite as flexible.

The other change that it makes is that I think it makes it harder (with MSOLAP) to stack cubes into partitions on a monthly basis.

Thanks Oliver.

I was successful by creating 2 additional dimensions :
a) month & b) year

By placing the month on the column and the year in the row together with the sales data I was able to achieve a multi-line graph.

Thanks for your guidance.

Best regards,
