Can anyone help, I have a cyberguard knightstar firewall that drops out to a console prompt form its GUI for no reason. Does anyone know have to restart the GUI without rebooting the firewall and cutting all active connections.

Hi Markyboy,

To restart the GUI issue this command at the prompt:

sh /etc/rc2.d/S69xdm start

This will launch the GUI.

Also you can press "ALT-SYSREQ and then P" to jump into the GUI, and the "ALT-SYSREQ then H" to drop back to the command line. Let me know if it works!
