Yes, I do like the amphenol connections too, I'm also in Canada, but the CX models do not allow it. I just thought that a 25 pair terminated with mod plugs instead of using a large number of line cords would make things cleaner. IF you have the AMB and the expansion AOB you could have up to 16 line cords, what a mess!
I used to install Panasonic Key Systems and some of their stuff had mod jacks, so we would strip a 25 pair cable back about 8 inches, take two pair, and crimp on a RJ11 plug. If you do it right, it is clean. Then terminate the other end on a BIX strip. In the case of the CX, I would only use one pair per mod plug.
I think that I would personally only do this for wall mounted systems. If you are Rack Mounting, then a tie cable from the MDF to a Patch Panel would be cleaner.
I guess it is just personal preference.
