cvs version start point

Hi

can i change the start point for the cvs versioning?
i.e. it starts at 1.0 and goes 1.1, 1.2, etc

i want it to start at 1.0.0 and go 1.0.1 etc

another question, does it go 1.9, 2.0 or 1.9 1.10? can this be changed as well??
