I have an Excel Add-in Completed and it works great. I just want to do one thng during installation and I can find very little documentaion on the VB6 Package & deployment wizard.

All I want to do is open Excel. Preferably just before it says "Installation complete"

Is there a file somewhere that will let me customize how the installation takes place?

thanks

The PDW is a VB project and as such can be modified. You can add forms or set thing sup during setup. You just have to make the necessary modifications.

The project can usually be found in 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98\Wizards\PDWizard\Setup1'.

I recommend that you make a copy of the setup1 folder so you can restore it if necessary. Once the Setup1.exe file has been compiled place it in the PDWizard folder and you are ready to go. Once again I recommend that you rename the existing setup1.exe file first. Thanks and Good Luck!

Just one thing I should clarify. The Package and Deployment wizard is not a VB project, but rather the setup program that the PDW uses to install your application is a VB project. It is this Setup program that you can manipulate and not the PDW itself.

And it is the Setup1 file that you want to manipulate if you are going to customize your setup. Thanks and Good Luck!
