Cursor Jumping around when typing? I hate this?

Hello eveyone.

I having this problem - When typing in XP, in any word, notepad, and email the cursor jumps around. This causes me to make mistakes. This is on a laptop compaq presario 1500.

I though I had a virus, so I scanned with NAV 2003 on local pc, and Online virus scans. Ran Adware ,and spybot S&D and i'm still having the problem?

Can anyone suggest anything else?

Do you have a touch pad? If so, this is your problem. Find the properties for your touch pad and disable anything like "Tap to Click".

Do you have a touchpad on that laptop?

Often a user rests his palm on the touchpad while typing. Look to the properties of both your mouse, touchpad and touch pointer (if so equipped) and ask them to move the cursor out of the way while typing. Adjust the touch pad sensitivity.
