cursor focus and disable buttons

is there any coding in php or javascript whereby whenever i put the cursor in the input box, the image buttons for bold or italic will not be appear?

There is not in PHP, because PHP is a server-side scripting language.

There may be in JavaScript. However, you would be best served asking in the JavaScript forum about that.
