It appears from this appraisal that we will not be permitted the use of 'damns'... at least those of us who don't own a dam...

The Post fronts the Bush administration proposing to allow only dam owners to appeal Interior Department rulings on the use of damns. Everybody else—including states, Indian tribes, and environmental groups—would be locked out.

He served two terms in the Tennessee legislature and was elected to Congress three times. After years as a Democratic Jacksonian, Crockett broke ties with Jackson in 1828 and became a Whig for the remainder of his political career.

Davy Crocket's last political act was to say You can go to hell. I'm going to Texas. Was this the right choice?

To get back to the original issue, it is odd to allow just one interest group to have a say. Even if you can't tell a dam from a damn, you ought to have a voice.
