currency value is out of range

I receive the message "Currency Value is out of range" when running a report that I created in VFP 6. I have looked up the error in help, but I don't understand what the problem is. I only get the error sometimes, depending on what data is being pulled into the report. I can pull the data up in a browse window without any problem, so it has to be something in the report layout, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Any help would be really appreciated. Julie Jenks

Hi,
1. Are you doing any calculation using the currency value.?
If the value exceeds the limits.. (What is the limit???),
this question can arise.
2. Just check.. if you are doing any additions to that field as report level totals etc.. which could exceed the limit.. but generally.. this error will only show on the display as **** or trucating ... depending on your display formats..

I am doing calculations on numeric fields, so it is quite possible that I am exceeding a limit. However, I do not know how to prevent that from happening. Do I need to convert the numeric fields to some other type, or round them, or change the display value? I'm afraid I don't know enough about this stuff to get to the next step.

Are you taking about currenct type field or numeric type field.
I suggest read the help on data type.. Numeric/Integer/currency etc. This could help you to understand the matter.
