My reports need to be able to change currency symbols based upon the regional settings of the station installed on. I found a 2 white papers (C2000358 and C2001783) saying that this was found in CRW v6.0, I’m using v8.5 and it's still an issue. The solution in C2001783 works, my problem is the amount of reworking that I'd have to do. I set my regional settings to the current language I'm working on, keeping all the default settings for that language. I’m finding that if I go to the format editor, number tab, click on System Default Number format, set the style to System Default Number Format and then click on the Currency Symbol and set to floating, the Style changes to custom style and now doesn't automatically change with the regional settings.

Could the problem be that the database fields which contain the dollar values are set to number fields?

Does anyone else have a solution that means less work for me? (200+ reports to rework)[morning]

Thanks in advance,
Jacque

Hello Jacque,
What I've found is that when you are working on a machine with the report developer on it, the report relies on the settings within the developer (whose values are not the same as the system's) However, when the reports are deployed, at least using compiled reports, the report will use the system settings on the machine that it is executed on. Thus date/time/currency for compiled reports work off the system settings.
Hope this helps,

Hi Bruce,
'Unfortunately' My reports aren't compiled or runtime reports, they are integrated into an application and tested on the same type of system they will be installed on. So I can see that they aren't correcting to the system regional settings, but thanks anyway. [peace]
