Curious about system mailbox

I have recently started adding users to our new exchange server and I noticed that I have one mailbox that says "system mailbox" with a long string of numbers behind it. Currently it shows that there are over 400 emails in this mailbox.

My question, where did this mailbox come from and how do I access it to retrieve the mail inside of it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
