Just a general question - would a rebuild be better than using Cisco's PCD tool for an upgrade? The customer is migrating away from MCS servers to UCS 220, so I'm thinking a manual rebuild would be a better strategy.
It all depends on the applications and the specifics of the upgrade. If possible I always start with PCD, much easier to do but it doesn't upgrade all UC apps. That said. it doesn't always work and you end up doing it the old fashion way.
I would rely on the experience of the engineer that is doing the upgrade and go with his suggestion. Each upgrade has it's own particulars and gotchas, so it's not really a single approach to all.
