I am trying to implement role-based security in SQLServer 2000 Analysis Services - Cube with database in SQL Server 2000.
I have installed Active Directory on Windows 2000.
The cube and reports are web-enabled with Excel 2000 pivottable as a client (Office 2000 web components have also been installed).
I am creating roles for local accounts as well as domain accounts. For both, role-wise security works if I login with the respective accounts onto the same computer ( where the cube and database reside).
But, when I login with these accounts from another computer,
I am able to see ALL the dimensions if I don't put role-wise restrictions. With role-wise restrictions, I get access error when I try to access/manipulate the cube.
I have tried both ways of cube creation - creating the cube on the server computer with local login as well as domain login (with these two being OLAP administrators). But, no change in results.
SOMEONE, PLEASE RESPOND ASAP !!!
