css font size units

Can anyone show me the pros and cons of each measuring unit choices in css?
The choices are pixel, points, in, cm, mm, picas, ems, exs, %.
I make websites that can't take over the user's browser font size setting so my preference is %. But I don't know enough about the various choices.
