I have a site with a 2 column site, 1 column called #left-column where the nav goes and one larger called #content which is supposed to sit next to it.

However when I place a .clearer layer after the left column, the content column moves below it instead of sitting next to it.

anyone know how I can get around this?

I assume the .clearer div is to break the float. (clear:both)

If so, erm, well that's what it's supposed to do.

Chris.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

problem is, without the clearer I get some weird results with my backgrounds going further down the page than I would like.
