We recently replaced our 11c with a CS1000E/T. There are two brands of fax machines, Ricoh and Canon. The Canon seems to work fine, but the Ricoh is going to be the death of me. The employee puts the fax in the machine, dials the number and presses start. The Ricoh calls, connects, sends the cover page, disconnects, and then times out after 4 more retries. Customers are upset that they are receiving five cover pages. Verizon (they did the install) says that the Ricoh does not follow the fax spec. Well, now I am hearing complaints about the Canon not working well either.
From the forums, I have read to throttle down the fax machines to 14400. I have not heard back from Ricoh if that is an option. Additionally, as mentioned elsewhere, I checked the class of service and all of the fax machines are set to Fax Denied (FAXD). From the little documentation that I found, it sure looks like that should be Fax Allowed (FAXA).
Any thoughts?
TIA,
Douglas
