Does anyone know if there is a chart or something along those lines in the NTPs that shows the superloops for a CS1000E and how they are carved out? Cant find it in the P&E guide so far.

Here is what Nortel design gave me for a recommended reference. It is up to you on how you assign the loops. Remember in the CS1000 0-0-0-0 is not a valid TN. It will let you program it but that TN will not work properly.

Loops 0 - 100 for IPMG's (that's 50 IPMG's using shelf 0 and 1 - the current limit on Rel 5)
Loops 104 - 203 for VXCT's
Loops 204 - 252 for Virtual TN's
- Loop 204 - 236 for IP Phones (9216 TN's)
- Loop 240 - 248 for IP Trunks (3072 TN's)
Loop 252 for Phantom TN's (512 TN's)

Artificial Intelligence Is No Match for Natural Stupidity.

The latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the population.

The original point and click interface was a Smith & Wesson.

Red meat is not bad for you, it is the green fuzzy meat that is bad.

Superloop wise, 0-15 is gone. You get 8, if you have an expander, 4 per shelf, so if you have spl 4
4 0 0 1 (media or sig in 0)
4 0 0 2
4 0 0 3
4 0 0 4
5 & 6 not used
4 1 1 1 These are slots 7 thru 10 in expander
4 1 1 2
4 1 1 3
4 1 1 4

( it might be 4 0 1 1 and etc, I'll confirm today my CS1000E is burning in at the C.O.)

Usable card slots are as follows

First Cabinet of Media Gateway (Example Loop 4 Shelf 0)
Main Cabinet
4-0-1
4-0-2
4-0-3
4-0-4
Expansion Cabinet
4-0-7
4-0-8
4-0-9
4-0-10

4-0-6 and 4-0-5 are not used as they will be when you have an old option 11 cabinet you are using as a media gateway.

4-0-0 is for the 32 port dsp daughterboard on the MGC

4-0-11 thru 4-0-13 is reserved for the 96 port dsp daughterboard on the mgc.

4-0-14 and 4-0-15 are for DTR's or if needed you can program MFR's (Don't do this if you don't have CAMA trunks)

This is repeated for every media gateway. Next one available would be loop 4 shelf 1. Remember on the 1000E you are no longer restricted by time slots on superloops on release 5 and above.

Those are correct cabnet slots, but not physical tnb loop numbers.

tnphoneman is correct. MG 1 and expander is 4 0 1 thru 4 then 7 thru 10 a second expander could be shelf 1 but is preferred to move to the next super loop. I E,

MG 1 & Expander
Slot Unit Loop Shelf Card Unit
1 0-31 4 0 1 0-31
2 0-31 4 0 2 0-31
3 0-31 4 0 3 0-31
4 0-31 4 0 4 0-31
7 0-31 4 0 7 0-31
8 0-31 4 0 8 0-31
9 0-31 4 0 9 0-31
10 0-31 4 0 10 0-31

MG 2 & Expander
1 0-31 8 0 1 0-31
2 0-31 8 0 2 0-31
3 0-31 8 0 3 0-31
4 0-31 8 0 4 0-31
7 0-31 8 0 7 0-31
8 0-31 8 0 8 0-31
9 0-31 8 0 9 0-31
10 0-31 8 0 10 0-31

The second MG and expander could have been like this:

MG 2 & Expander
Slot Unit Loop Shelf Card Unit
1 0-31 4 1 1 0-31
2 0-31 4 1 2 0-31
3 0-31 4 1 3 0-31
4 0-31 4 1 4 0-31
7 0-31 4 1 7 0-31
8 0-31 4 1 8 0-31
9 0-31 4 1 9 0-31
10 0-31 4 1 10 0-31
