I have just started to look into the options around implementing a backup procedure for our CS1000e. Although as part of the midnight routines we are backing up to the compact disks I would be more comfortable to hive our backups to a Corporate server.

Rather than jumping straight to the NTPs I have had a quick look on the forums as a starting point.

From what I've read access to two overlays (LD 43 & LD 143) seems to be a main requirement. Although we have access to most overlays we don't have access to LD143.

Will this be an issue in choosing what route we can take with our backup procedure? We can request access via our Maintainer but would probably come with an associated cost. However if this is what would be for the best it woudl be a route we would go down. I also want to cover our 2 SMG sites - would this be backed up as part of the CS1000e or would individual backups be required for both sites?

Any assistance/suggestions would be appreciated.

You do need access to LD 143 to back up the database to a remote computer. Your vendor should give this to you along with all the passwords to the PBX, after all, it's your PBX, not theirs. What would you do if you changed vendors or if the one you are using went out of business? The SMG sites are just a copy of the database at the main site which should be set up in a schedule at the main site to replicate the database to those remote call Servers.

Thanks KCFLHRC

Email sent to the maintainer this morning.

Will await their response.............

Cheers
