I have a networking background (CCNA, MCSE) but new to CS1000 Opt 61. I've been asked to learn about the system but I'd like to get some brownie point with the current phone administrator by knowing a bit about the basic commands. Can someone provide me with a primer? Ie login commands, browser command, status, etc? Thnx.

Well, start at the Avaya site to learn every "peace" of hardware and how it all connects to the system. Then go to ghtrout's site and download ALL of his documents to get the 'low down' (why do they call it that??? Why can't they just call it 'the skinny'???) on the system command structure. Then when you blow it up, come back here and we'll help you fix it. He he....

Thanks for the tip on the ghtrout.

I just had another thought: Is there a CS1000 Simulation App for learning/testing? I used a Cisco network sim program a while back which was useful for learning networking without screwing up a real network. It would nice to do the same thing with a CS1000 without bringing the actual phone system crashing down by a typo.
