We have a CS1000 switch with rls 4.0 software. Is this system not supported by Avaya, we are looking to add 50 TN's for this system but are not sure if we have to upgrade to 6.0 to add TN's.

..and the current shipping version is CS 1000 7.5.

Your in a tuff spot. An upgrade for you is Big Money $$$$ because you will need new hardware.

It's only dialtone!!!

I think the minimum TN upgrade release is 5.0. However I think it will soon be increased to 6.0. Usually Avaya (Nortel) like to be two releases behind the current release.

It's unfair, but there isn't another option, unless you do a search for a "gold" dongle!.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

And to add a little:

1: Check the SLT in LD22. You may actually have the available licenses. If not..... it's upgrade time.

2: If you have the licences, then in LD20 LUVU for the types of sets you want to add.

3: Check your system for either line cards with red leds on (equipped but not programmed at all) or at least spare slote in the cabinets that will take cards (depending on the SLT result)

For possible spare digital ports, try in LD 117 INV GEN SETS. Wait until it's completed, then run INV PRT SETS.
