when I start a program that uses crystal reports I get the following error message " crystl32.ocx is not registered properly or a file is missing" My question Is How do I properly register this OCX file ?

use regsvr32.exe crystl32.ocx from your command line.
you will find regsvr32.exe in your windows system directory.

If that works great, if it returns an error or you still have the same problem I would suggest reinstalling crystal. You may have a problem with another file that the crystl32.ocx is dependant on and these are a pain to track down.
