Using TOAD as an instance Manager for ORACLE 8.1 seems to be pretty effective in all respects except 1 - printed reports. PRINT GRID just doesn't cut it. Is Crystal Reports the right vehicle to get high quality printed reports out of an ORACLE Table? What if we need reports on a join of 2 tables.

Crystal is the most popular choice, but your requirement$ might sway you to use another product. Crystal will connect to multiple databases, tables, and views, or you can use a Procedure.

Toad isn't intended as a reporting program, but I am a fan of it for simplifying dba tasks and PL/SQL programming.

Since you have Oracle, consider using Oracle Reports Developer for basic reporting.

I prefer Crystal because it's more flexible.
