I have installed crystal report 7.0 on the cold fusion server. I have both the calling cfm file as well as the .rpt file in the same directory. When I run the cfm file it is not finding the .rpt file.

The error message is

---------------------

Error Diagnostic Information

REPORT

The report file you have specified (rt01.rpt) either does not exist or is not accessible to the ColdFusion service. Please verify
that the name of the report file is spelled correctly and that the file is located in a directory which is accessible to the
ColdFusion service.

The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of (CFREPORT), occupying document position
(11:1) to (11:28).

What could it be ?

I don't do anything with Crystal Reports but my first thought would be to try using a full path to the file in case you're using a relative one. Outside of that, I'd have to see your calling code to offer any better suggestions.

I believe the cfreport tag needs a fully qualified path with the drive letter.

Thanks, I will try this and get back to you.

I have put a fully qualified path and atleast it moved ahead. Now it is giving me this error.

If this is the first time you've tried to make crystal reports run on the server, I would try a very simple report and see if it gives the same error. If there's something in your report that's very resource intensive, it might be causing that error. If you find that a simple report works, try adding more to it so that you gradually make it look more like the report is failing. At a certain point, you should find the specific part that's making it fail. As I said, I've never worked with CR much so I don't know how feasible it is but this is the approach I take with other similar problems.

If a simple report fails, I would suspect a problem with the installation and would either re-install or do a search for that error message. I find that Google often has a good index of the discussion boards and I can usually find a discussion on a specific problem through them.

Hope this helps,
GJ

The simple report worked. This means that installation is proper. Now I will try with some complicated report.
