Crystal Report Distribution

In Crystal 7.0 Professional you could make and *.exe file of the report and take it to a client and run it on the desktop.... I just upgraded to Crystal 8.5 Professional and I don't find this anywhere... how do I do this now?

You cannot do this with CR professional any more. You must have CR developer. Even then, this tool does not ship with the product, you must go to crystal decisions' website and download it.

Your alternative is to use a 3rd party tool such as hammerlaunch to run and view reports for those that do not have the CR designer. Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

Compiled reports are available (download from Crystal Decisions web site) but, afaik, are allowable only for the 8.5 Developer edition.

Thanks.... not thrilled with the answer.... which is crazy cause as a "professional" it would make sense I'm writting them for "clients"... but such is life!
