1) You can create an ODBC link to interpret a text file containing CSV data.
2) you can lookup a value or line in a text file using my Text Lookup User Function library
3) You insert Text, RTF or HTML files inside your report using a subreport based on my cViewTEXT data driver.
What are you trying to do? What is in the text file you need in your report?
The text file I am trying to read into Crystal is a 260 byte line sequential Ascii file that has 8 fields, I want to put 5 of them on a Crystal report. 4 of the 5 fields are character data and 1 is numeric.
I could not find an ODBC text driver for Crystal Reports 9. Is the text lookup function the easiest way to go?
Under Start, Settings, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Data Sources (ODBC) you should be able to add a new System or User DSN and select a Text ODBC driver.
