One of the best resources I have found is the Seagate Info Technical Whitepaper, which can be found in the \DOCS directory on the SI CD.
It provides a detailed analysis of the architecture of SI, and has sections on sizing and deployment. It's hard reading (no "Seagate Info for Dummies" here) but well worth it.
