Hi
I have written a really complex report dealing with a lot of averages. One important part was that if a value is null it is not included in the average. However when I export this crystal to excel is changes the value to take the nulls into account????? Very odd???
I have tried changing the values to text befor exporting but it does the same????
Help??

Perhaps if you change it to check for null or 0 (or "" depending upon the data type)?

If you truly have to key off of a null (as opposed to a zero or blank), try D/Ling the latest patches (hotfixes) from Crystaldecisions.com, they may resolve this.

Or you might give us an example of how you're keying off of nulls.

I'd advise using a formula field that uses the value when it is not null and sets itself to zero when null is found. I don't think nulls are suitable for Excel, Madawc Williams
