In my quest for more information regarding certification, I came across a 7-day intensive Crystal bootcamp which guaranteed that I would pass the exam at the end of the 7 days or I could attend the bootcamp again at no expense.

My question is whether any of you have attended this sort of bootcamp training/examination and what your thoughts were compared to maybe taking individual classes.

Thanks.

Who is providing the boot camp? Keep in mind that they might let you come to the training again if you fail, but I doubt they will cover your expenses.
How much experience do you have with Crystal? There are people who have posted here that have passed the exams without taking any classes. They have studied the help files using the exam outline as a reference. I have also heard that Annette's CRCP book has helped people pass the exam.

This particular training camp is offered by "TechTrain | The Training Camp | InfoSec Academy". You're right that I would have to pay for air, hotel, food, etc. but not the exam fees or the class fees.

I've just recently taken a beginning Crystal Reports and advance Crystal Reports class through CrystalUser.com. I've been working with Crystal for about a month now. I've got a pretty good handle on databases and have used Access reports previously so the concepts in Crystal are not totally unfamiliar.

I have ordered Annette's book based on reviews here at tek-tips and other sites.

My boss is willing to send me to classes in order to achieve certification and/or an advanced level of expertise in Crystal and I wanted to know if I should push for the training camp or if individual classes would suffice. I like the structure of classroom teaching over being self-taught, especially since I don't have to pay. The thought of being in a class from 9am to 10pm for 7 days straight does frighten me a bit.

I know nothing about that organization, so I can't give you any recommendation on them. I would certainly do my research before sending them any money.

I can tell you that courses that Business Objects offers are very good in preparing you for the exams. I have taken the exams and taught from the material and I remember seeing some exam questions that were almost word for word out of their training manuals.

Thanks for your advice.

I've pretty much decided that I would take the individual classes through Business Objects rather than the bootcamp since I couldn't find any information about the company on the internet other than their own company website.
