Crystal 8 vs Crystal 9

There are no shortcoming at all as far as crystal reports are concerned. It has a lot of shortcoming in the Scheduling side of crystal reports (i.e. seagate info/crystal enterprise)
Benefits are large:
Create custom functions (huge plus)
Drawbacks:
Once in Crystal Reports 9, can't go back to previous versions, no save as to crystal reports 8 or 8.5. Hence have good backups for the old reports.
Catch is: If you are using seagate Info for scheduling the reports than you need to upgrade to Crystal Enterprise 9 at a huge cost with very less features. If you can wait, wait till crystal enterprise 10 release.
