i have a crosstab report my report has
a row is x --types
and column is y --- states
measure is z --- no of reciients
and one node member which is w --- age
now x is aggregate total
and y is aggregate total
and w is also aggregate total

now my problem is in my x row i need to get data restricted upto 10 columns can anyone plz answer

In a crosstab only the measure will have an aggregate set.
What do you mean by restricting up to 10 columns. do you mean you only want to see 10 states?
Can you clarify?

actually i need to have only 10 common types only to be displayed on my report

i.e., x --- rows

Then set a filter for the types that you require. This can be achieved in the query panel GUI..
