I am currently working with ASP and SQL Server. I have to start using FileMaker soon. Is it similiar enough to pick up fairly quickly??

Any ideas or good starting points would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Novice123,

I work with Access and need to learn FileMaker. If it's any help, not knowing SQL Server, there is only some similarity to Access. FileMaker does not use Structured Query Language at all. Nothing called queries even exists. These are called "finds". There is scripting but it is totally foreign to VBA. The way I see it, your understanding of relational databases will help in general, but the interface and underlying structure will take a bit of time.

Best regards,
