cross talk

hi - do any of you know what causes cross talk. We sometimes get a span of when we can hear other people's conversations or something funky occurs like an outbound call ends up at reception. Any idea of what causes this? thanks.

Are you experiencing high tdm-bus usage? I have seen this being the cause of similar problems.

Could be defective trunking facilities. Regarding the TDM Bus utilization; do 'list measurements load-balancing total [yesterday, today, last-hour]. The left side of the report deals with usage within the port network. Usage should be below 75%. The right side of the page is for traffic between port networks, if you have more than one. Below is the link to the Avaya Reports Manual that tells you how to interupt the data.

is the housekeeping staff using the MDF/IDF closet as a storage room? i have seen this in many hotels. especially if it is happening as a random event
