Hello All

Help needed, I'm very confused.

I'm using Crystal 8.5 on an access database.

I have created a cross tab report to show a Target Gift Amount in the rows and the Completion Deadline as columns.

The completion deadline is grouped into quarters.

It looks like:

Overdue Quarter 1 Quarter 2 Quarter 3 Quarter 4 Next Business Year No Deadline

Up to £5000
5000 - 10000
10001 - 25000
and so on

Overdue is simply a date prior to the start of our quarter 1.

the problem is that when I have the columns in the order above 'Quarter 4' and 'Next Business' do not display. If I re-arrange the columns so that they are not chronological (e.g. Quarter 4, Quarter 1, Next Business Year, Quarter 2) then they all display.

I am very confused, hopefully someone might be able to shine a bit of light on what is going on!

Thanks
Pete

What is your formula for completion deadline? I'm assuming this is an inserted crosstab.

I am using the report expert.

The deadline formula is done through the 'group options' button, and the beginning and end dates of each quarter are entered. Plus 'less than or equal to' the start of the business year for 'Overdue' and 'Greater than or equal to' the last day of the business year for 'Next Business Year'.

Does this answer your question?

Please copy the formula into the thread.

lbass...in writing out all the formulas I went through the report and I had put 31 days in April and it was stopping everything that was coming afterwards.

Anyway to delete a thread to save my embarrassment?

Thanks for help

Pete

Hi Pete, I read your problem and realized you have solution of my problem regarding subcolumns in Cross tab report
I am using Crystal 10 with SQL server db and having problem in creating Cross-tab report. If you give me the solution with Cross-tab or without Cross-tab that would be highly appreciated, here is my problem,
I have five fields in my table’s each row i.e. CompanyName, EmployeeName, Department, Rate, Salary. Each employee may be worked in more than one department up to 5, I want to present this information in such tabular form that’s group by Company then each row’s first column show the employee name and then related department names in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th columns depends how many are the record. Further more I want to divide each department in related employee’s Rate and Salary. I need detail of each record and may be columns summary for salary.
Thanks..

An other forum member Meadows mentioned a mock cross tab report but I am not very much familiar with mock cross tab, can you give me some idea how did you do subcolumns (The completion deadline is grouped into quarters) , here is the detail what I need.

Company 1
Employee Name Department 1 Department 2 Department 3
Rate Salary Rate Salary Rate Salary

David $30 $800 $35 $900 $25 $700
John $20 $700 $32 $750 $25 $700
Mike $28 $600 $30 $800 $15 $500

In table data all information in same record i.e. CompanyName, EmployeeName, Department, Rate, Salary.
I appreciate your time.

What happens if you insert a crosstab and use employee as the row, department as your column and rate and salary as your summary? You would place this in a group header or footer (where the group is inserted on company). If you have XI, you can go to the customize style tab and check "horizontal" and "show labels" in the summary section.
