Hello.

I have created a report with two subreports, one to sum all the items on an invoice and the other to sum all the payments made against the invoice. I have passed the total values on the subreport back to the main report (thanks to some help from the experts posting on Tek-tips!). I have another formula in the "details c" section of the main report to calculate the amount outstanding. Also in the "details c" section is a formula to calculate the age of the invoice.

Now I would like to produce a cross tab with the age of the invoice in the columns, the billing company in the rows (the billing company is in the group header #1) and the sum of the amount outstanding as a summarised field but I can't see the amount outstanding in the list of fields. Why isn't it in the list and how can I get it there?

Any help would be appreciated. (I'm using Crystal 8)

TIA,

Ella

The problem you're running in to is with the point in the process where summary data is evaluated and frustrated me for a long time (still does). The reason your formula isn't showing up is due to the fact that it hasn't been evaluated at that point. About the only work-around I know of would be to create a manual crosstab instead of inserting a cross tab which should do what you want. Having only been on Tek-Tips for a short time, however, I can assure you there's more help on the way from the experts!!

Thanks for your help.

What do you mean by a "manual crosstab"?

I've tried putting fields in the footers and trying to sum the amount outstanding, matched amount or invoice amount but I can't insert a sum for them either.

TIA,

Ella

That's a great website. Thanks for your help.

I've scrapped the old report and started again and now get the cross tabs to work but have hit a brick wall in calculations further up the report. It's probably better if I start another thread instead of merging multiple problems in this one.

Thanks again for your help.
