just use the rectangular masking tool (in the toolbar), and drag it over the part of the video you want to be visible.

It's called the "Region of Interest". But you can also place the composition in a NEW composition, then modify the dimensions of your new comp.
This will allow you to make non-destructive cropping edits, and also preserve the "% of comp" formulae that you may have used in your animation
