Cron daemon crashes randomly

My cron daemon crashes sometimes at random moments.
In IBM AIX they start the cron in the inittab with the respawn option. If i do this within HP-UX my cron starts a few times.
Is there anybody who has the same problem or placed the cron start in the inittab ?
