I've setup a remote listening line so that management etc. can dial in remotely to observe calls - the line is basically a VDN-->Vec with FAC+VDN to monitor. I want to be able to alert certain parties that the line has been dialled; I originally setup a crisis alert:

The vdn routes to 9xxxxxx where 9 is the FAC for ARS. The xxxxxx number is configured on ARS as an alert number and routed to route-patern yy (at this point the phones configured for crisis-alert should begin alerting). Route-pattern yy translates the xxxxxx number to 1234 and sent down a QSIG link to a sister switch. The sister switch is configured to redirect any call routing to 1234 back down the same link (i.e. back to the originating switch) but replaces 1234 with another VDN number, the Vector of which has the route-to fac+vdn to monitor.

Now this should and does all work when I instigate the call from my office phone; however if I dial the oringal VDN from outside (e.g. from my mobile) the line work in that the service observe function completes and call are monitored; however the crisis alert doesn't work!!

It's driving me crazy - I'm assuming it's down to the switch not alerting on trunk-to-trunk transfers; or possibly because the call has originated from outside/off-net. I've tried everything from forwarding, coverage paths etc. nothing works.

I've running a Definity G3si R9.02.

NJ

Just a question, VDN Override? Does this not need to be 'Y'? Not sure just checking.

Let me know, thanks.

First thing I thought, doesn't work. Thanks anyway.

I'm pretty sure it won't work, nor is it supposed to. The switch knows the call is originating from outside. Crisis alert is designed for internally originating calls only.
