Credit Card Processing

We want to add a page to our church website that will allow individuals to buy books and other products from our church. We want to offer them the ability to use a credit card that will deposit the money into our account and notify us of the sale. A shopping cart type thing. We do not wish to use PayPal.

How would we go about that? I am not a web programmer by trade so I need to fully understand what steps or products I need.

Do a google search for online credit card processing.

While you don't want to use paypal.... it IS the cheapest and most reliable one out there especially for churches. I use it for our church's CDs, and Offerings. Paypal charges are minimal. Other card processors will charge you a monthly fee, Percentage of transaction fee, and per transaction fee.
